Receiving the Glorious Gift of Love

Sometimes life offers us gifts that leave us so awe-struck that we don’t have adequate words to describe the depth and power of the joy, beauty and wonder of what we’re feeling.

Sometimes you have to be willing to go through a little discomfort and get out of your comfort zone to receive those gifts.

Think about the last time someone invited you to do something and you turned them down.  Maybe you didn’t feel well, maybe you thought it wasn’t worth the aggravation, maybe you felt a little insecure.  Whatever the reason, you might have missed out on something amazing.

I want to tell you about the glorious gift of love and joy that I received over Labor Day weekend by being willing to get out of my comfort zone.

Two of my clients were getting married and invited me to their wedding.  They are truly beautiful souls and great people who have been through more than any two people should ever have to go through, both separately and together.  But Source smiled on their love, resilience and trust, and rewarded them with a beautiful love for each other.  To be invited to their wedding was a true honor.  I deeply love them both.

It wasn’t easy.  I live on the West Coast and they live on the East Coast.  It was over Labor Day weekend, a busy time to fly. It was a formal wedding and I’m pretty casual, so it meant new clothes, shoes, jewelry, etc.   How fun!

From the moment I met them at the restaurant that first night, I felt wrapped in a cocoon of love and joy.  The bride is the most loving woman I’ve ever known in my life. She is now a model for me on how to be more loving.  I honestly didn’t know anyone could be that loving.  And after all she’s been through, she is filled with love, gratitude, joy and trust and willing to let it pour out of her heart.

The groom is one of the greatest guys I’ve ever known, as well as a unique and precious soul.  He is very verbal about his caring, admiration, respect and love for me and anyone he cares about – blowing the theory that guys don’t share their feelings.  They do when they want to and if we make it safe for them.

Between the two of them I received love on a scale that is immeasurable.

They asked me to do a reading at the wedding.  Frankly I was nervous, I don’t do a lot of public speaking.  But I quickly realized it wasn’t about me, it was a gift they asked me to bring to them at their wedding.  I couldn’t say no.

Not only was it a gift to me to do the reading for them, it turned out that by doing the reading that all sorts of people at the wedding – none of whom I knew – came up and talked with me about it.   What a great way to start a conversation and get to know the friends and relatives of the bride and groom.

It’s my intention to inspire you to take a chance, to get out of your comfort zone for the sake of receiving miraculous gifts.  Go someplace when you’re asked that you wouldn’t normally go, be a little inconvenienced, don’t listen to your fears.  Just surrender, trust and go!  It might be the greatest experience of your life.

Before you go, reach into your heart and let all the love you have in there pour out.  Love yourself and others with such openness and willingness that you surprise yourself.   Then reach in, and let out some more love.  If you do, you will receive the most glorious gift we can have in this Universe – pure, unconditional love.

Don’t let fear or past hurts keep you from love.  It’s not worth it.  We came here to have fun, to live and thrive and to love. We are spiritual beings having a human experience.  As the wise spiritual teachers teach us – who you really are is Source energy in physical form – pure, positive energy.

Choose LOVE! It works.  I know.  I’m walking with you, humbled and overjoyed by the glorious gift of love I received, opening my heart to feel and give love that can’t be measured.

It’s my intention to give that to others that they might have their hearts and souls soar to new heights with the power of love.  If you’re willing to do the same, for yourself and others, life will be immeasurably joyful.
